You can create a small piece of mosaic in a day. You can learn how to cut and shape tesserea (tiles).
Students will learn how to make a tote lined bag with an internal zipped pocket, the course will cover seams and zips.
You can either make an unlined tote bag with French seams or a chicken doorstop. Come along and have a fun day in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
You will learn as a group the basic principles of construction to build a clay oven. This will enable you to design and create your own clay oven for pizza or bread making at home.
Hazel wattle hurdles have been made in the countryside for hundreds of years. Originally used for penning sheep, they are now almost exclusively used for garden fences, screens and dividers.
A one day course which will give you a background to the prehistoric art of bronze making and some practical experience. We will look at the distant history of bronze, metallurgy, techniques and we will handle ore, copper, tin and some original artifacts.
If the taste of working with bronze interests you, there are a limited number of places available on the two day advanced course. You have to have participated in one of the introduction courses, but if you indicate your interest, Rod will give you further instruction and correspond with you so that you can do some of your own preparation to get the most from the event.
