Course description:

This course in accounting gives you the opportunity to gain skills and a nationally recognised qualification sought after by employers throughout the industry. From accounts clerks to financial controllers, the AAT programme is relevant in all industries and employment sectors. Students will develop their skills in double-entry book-keeping, train in management and administrative processes and gain skills in how to use manual and computerised accounting systems. Examples of subject areas include: AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting Basic Accounting 1 and 2 Basic Costing Computerised Accounting

The qualification is achieved by gaining practical experience on site and attending college to acquire the necessary theory, underpinning knowledge and practical training. You will also be required to achieve a Level 1 award in English, maths and IT and complete a workbook relating to employment rights and responsibilities. After successfully completing this course you will be able to progress on to the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in AAT Accounting Technician.

Entry requirements: Employment at a suitable level - most employers asks for GCSEs in English and maths, but may have additional specific requirements.
