Certificate in Counselling Skills (Introduction to Counselling and Psychotherapy)

This introductory course provides students with an opportunity to learn about counselling and psychotherapy whilst developing their counselling skills. Students will learn basic skills which can be used to go on to counselling or psychotherapy training or can be used in their existing workplace.

Diploma in Counselling Skills (Access course)

This course is designed for individuals who are interested in training to be Psychodynamic Counsellors or Psychodynamic Psychotherapists. Candidates will be able to practice their counselling skills within a psychodynamic framework.

  • Timetable: Weekly Attendance on Thursdays, plus 3 weekends
Postgraduate Diploma in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy

This course is for those who have successfully completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Theory and Practice at WPF Therapy (London) or the equivalent elsewhere. Where a counselling or psychotherapy training has been completed elsewhere applicants can apply via the APEL (Accreditation of Prior Experience and Learning) process.

  • Timetable: 3 years of seminars which take place on a Thursday, 13.00 - 16.30. Psychiatric placement, assessments, 3 x weekly clinical work with two patients for 18 months and 2 years respectively.
Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Theory and Practice

This course has a pluralist ethos within the psychodynamic and psychoanalytic tradition. Trainees study a wide range of authors from the seminal contributions of Freud, Jung, Klein, Winnicott and Bion to contemporary views and development of theory and technique.
