This PgDip Sport and Exercise Medicine (SEM) programme is internationally renowned for providing high quality distance learning exclusively to doctors. The programme is designed to provide relevant knowledge for doctors involved, or wishing to be involved, in the full or part-time management of recreational and elite athletes.
The aim of the course is to encourage the development of highly capable ‘scientist practitioners’. It emphasises a clear understanding of how psychological theory can be applied to practice (and vice versa) through paying close attention to the processes, strategies and techniques in the work of Clinical Psychology.
This course is designed to enable experienced professionals working in a range of policy nationally and globally to develop their policy analysis expertise without having to take a full career break. Combining advanced training in policy research and analysis with a thesis based on original research, it is based on a cohort model and can be spread out over up to six years.
This programme is validated by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) as conferring exemption from the Part 3 examinations of the RIBA, and is formally prescribed by the Architects Registration Board (ARB) for the purpose of admission to the Register of Architects. Admission to the Register is mandatory for all persons who wish to carry on business under the name, style or title containing the word 'architect'.
