Award winning Master Tailor Thomas von Nordheim has nearly 30 years experience in the world of Haute Couture. The publication of his book "Vintage Couture Tailoring" has won international acclaim. Besides manufacturing luxury one off garments for a distinguished private clientele from his central London atelier, he cuts and tailors costumes for domestic and International theatre, ballet and opera productions. Since 2004 Thomas has been a lecturer at London College of Fashion. Due to demand he has established his own master classes, taught to a maximum of 6 students at his beautiful Bloomsbury studio. The courses attract those interested in traditional Tailoring techniques as used in Savile Row.

On this one weekend workshop you will learn basic tailoring techniques by making a fully lined vented ladies skirt out of high quality British suiting in a stock size. You will learn fundamental ironing techniques such as shrinking, steam- and dry pressing, as used in Tailoring.
On this course, spread over two consecutive weekends, you will learn how to build a classic tailored jacket from scratch out of high quality British woolen suiting, using all the traditional techniques as explained in Thomas von Nordheim's book "Vintage Couture Tailoring". You will learn how to choose and employ loose interfacings such as horsehair and linen canvas in the construction and learn about their advantages.
