It is a requirement of the Health & Safety law that employers should provide a safe and healthy environment for their employees. If the assessment of First Aid needs highlights the need for qualified Emergency First Aider's, then this one-day course will provide you with suitably trained personnel in accordance with the current Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
Course objective Successful students completing this three-day initial first aid at work course will have met the requirements of the Statutory Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and will awarded the highest level of workplace first aid qualification in the UK. The course syllabus includes: The role of the first aider Recording incidents Assessment of the situation Cross infection Administration of first aid to an unresponsive casualty Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)** Choking Wounds and bleeding Shock Minor injuries Injuries to bones, muscles and joints Chest injuries Burns and scalds Eye Injuries Poisoning Anaphylactic shock Major illness **Additionally If your organisation holds an Automated External Defibrillator on-site & require AED operator training we can deliver this within the training for an additional fee of £10 per student.
All School staff successfully completing this one-day (9am to 4pm) Emergency First Aid at Work course will be able to offer emergency first aid in accordance with the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. This training has been adapted to include treating a child who is choking and Basic Life Support for the non-breathing child and correct use of Asthma Inhalers.
Employers will be able to demonstrate that additional measures have been met in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974. This training includes the safe and correct use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in accordance with the HSE Changes announced June 2016.
