Hello and welcome to Made To Sew and our sewing community. Based on the beautiful Somerset Levels we run a variety of sewing courses from dressmaking to quilting, tailoring and pattern cutting. Whether you are on the look-out for a new hobby or want to expand your knowledge and skills taking them to the next level, we can help you achieve your goals.
Our Studio, located at Bowdens Farm, Hambridge looks out over the Somerset countryside and could not be a better venue to pursue a creative mind set; taking in new information and techniques for you to continue your journey at home.
All of our classes are taught by expert instructors, passionate and knowledgeable about their field of work.
We always try to offer project based classes to be sure that our customers leave having learned a great deal and with a finished project to show-off to friends and family. Whatever your level, we will have a class for you; from beginners sewing and dressmaking to advanced tailoring. With no more than 6 students per class, tuition is personal, teaching the professional way of doing things (no more dressmaking projects that end up in the bin) and that’s what makes us unique! We also understand the importance of creating garments that fit your individual figure; hence the majority of our classes start by creating calico toiles and amending patterns to fit your unique shape and size. We have sewing machines and equipment for your use, so all you need is spare time and thirst for fun learning.
However if you’re not based in Somerset do not worry, we are quickly building up our online YouTube database of informative tutorials and ‘how-to’ videos. We always love to hear from our subscribers, so if there is something we are missing, please don’t be shy let us know and hopefully we can ‘help-out’!
Whilst your here why not check out our range of high quality fabrics, including a variety of ex-designer stock. Meaning if you’re after inspiration fo
