The Ilusion Flamenca dance school was started in 1999 by Angela Alonso in a small studio in South London. Thanks to Angela’s energy and the enthusiasm of the first dancers, the group soon grew, and started taking part in festivals and presentations. This enabled them to reach a wider audience, and engage new students, and the school soon became known for its outstanding performances.
Since then, the Ilusion Flamenca School and Professional Group have performed in more than 60 festivals and Flamenco-related events across London, and been featured in newspapers articles and TV shows.
Now the school offers regular classes for all levels, taught by Angela Alonso. Classes are held in Covent Garden and Euston/King’s Cross on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. There are regular classes as well in Reading on Wednesdays. The school also has a branch in Bristol and Stroud.
We also offer special courses throughout the year with top Flamenco artistes and teachers from Spain.
