A very warm welcome to Hampshire Wine School - an independent wine education company, not affiliated to any wine merchants or retailers. We run Wine Tastings and Wine Courses in Hampshire, Southampton, and Winchester for people who enjoy wine and would like to learn more about it. No previous wine tasting experience is necessary.
All our Wine Appreciation Courses and Wine Tasting evenings focus on enjoying wine and learning about it in a relaxed setting, with friendly people. Our sessions suit all levels of knowledge and experience, starting with our Saturday Introductory courses, a great way of immersing yourself in the subject through a leisurely tasting of 12 delicious wines (for £75, lunch and a glass of Champagne included!).
Our 1-Evening Wine Tastings (from only £22.50) provide the opportunity to try a tasting with no previous experience. Its also a great way to meet people who share your passion for wine - do try one - we are sure you will enjoy it!

Saturday 'Introduction to Wine' Course in Southampton: 11am to 4pm, with 2-course lunch & a glass of Champagne Passionate or interested about wine & want to learn more? Do you want to discover fascinating and delicious new wines & grape varieties? Do you want to taste a wide variety of wines and understand what makes them so different ? Do you want to know which wine to drink with what food? Then these are the courses for you and is a fascinating Introduction to the wonderful world of wine! It is also a great way to meet new friends who share your love of wine. This course also includes a delicious 2-course lunch with a glass of Champagne in the cosy function room at the 5AA White Star Tavern, on Oxford Street.
Have you ever wondered which wine to serve at your dinner party or what goes well with Asian food? – well this is the tasting for you! The evening is aimed at demonstrating which wines go well with different types of food. Our detailed food and wine matching workshop will help you understand which wines to pair with a wide variety of meat, poultry, fish vegetarian dishes as well as desserts and cheese.

Spanish Wines & Tapas Evening Join us as we taste a selection of fantastic wines of Spain that are the buzz-words in the wine industry at the moment, served alongside mouth-watering platters of tapas and spanish-style amuse-bouches. At the core of this area we find the classic Rioja joined by the youthful Navarra.

Wine Tasting - 8-week Comparison Course (Level 2): France vs New World This fascinating course will focus on the classic wine regions of France and directly compare them against the best the New World can offer using the same grapes! Join us each evening as we taste several pairs of wines made from the same variety, but from different countries. Can you easily tell the difference between Syrah from the south of France and Shiraz from the Barossa Valley in Australia By the end of the course you will! We will compare Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah/Shiraz, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Chardonnay and more from the best locations and producers from France and the New World.
