The Level 3 Award in Education and Training (QCF) has been designed to provide an introduction to teaching for individuals who would like to work or currently work within FE Colleges, Independent Training Providers and/or Local Authorities. It can meet the needs of a range of trainee teachers, such as: Individuals not currently teaching or training – achievement of the qualification does not require practice other than microteaching, unless units from the Learning and Development Suite of qualifications are selected; Individuals currently teaching and training, including those new to the profession – although the qualifications does not require practice (see explanation above), opportunities may be made available to observe and provide feedback on a trainee teacher’s practice; and Individuals currently working as assessors who wish to achieve a qualification that provides an introduction to teaching.

Level 2 Award for Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry (QCF) Under the Private Security Industry Authority Act 2001, all individuals wishing to work in the private security industry must undertake a recognised qualification before applying for a licence. This regulated qualification has been developed to meet the requirements of the Security Industry Authority (SIA).

Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (QCF) This accredited qualification is ideal for those already working or preparing to work within industry wishing to become an Emergency First Aider in the workplace for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (NI) 1982. The recommended course duration is 1 day and topics covered include: the roles and responsibilities of the Emergency First Aider, assessing an incident, recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness and assisting a casualty who is suffering from injury and illness.

Audience aimed at: Corporate training only

Level 2 Award for Upskilling a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry (QCF) In March 2012 the SIA announced the intention to require existing door supervisors who had achieved the pre-QCF Door Supervision qualification (for example the National Certificate for Door Supervision) to undertake additional training in order to renew their licence. We have been involved in discussions with the SIA to develop a new qualification that will meet these new requirements for SIA Door Supervisor licence renewals.
