This qualification is suitable for anyone who is already in a teaching, training or assessor role. This qualification supports a teaching role where the responsibilities are to deliver learning.
This course covers the knowledge and skills required by teachers/trainers in the further education and skills sector, and is an in-service (part-time) route for employed practitioners. This qualification will enable candidates to embed and demonstrate theories and principles of education within their teaching practice, and to take an analytical and practical approach to all aspects of planning, delivering and assessing inclusive learning and teaching.
This course is specifically designed for middle managers with a wide span of control and accountability for performance, in particular those with responsibility for determining resource allocation and operational methods in their department or organisation; students take 4 mandatory units, covering developing and implementing operational plans, working productively, providing leadership and direction, and planning change; they then choose from a range of optional units to complete the qualification, tailoring their learning to meet their individual and organisational needs.
The course is delivered at the workplace by a qualified assessor. The assessor will visit the staff regularly to set work and help the candidate to complete the units needed for the award.
