The Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Development has been specifically designed for those working in the National Careers Service or providing career information, advice and guidance in other relevant professional roles. It is particularly suited to those who apply theories and models of career guidance to support clients in making informed decisions in the areas of new learning, training opportunities or career planning.
This qualification is suitable for candidates who deliver a full information, advice and guidance service, who are responsible for a caseload of clients and who create dynamic relationships with other organisations. Candidates may have managerial or training responsibilities.
This qualification is suitable for candidates who are working in a designated advice and/or guidance organisation, whose work includes clear guidelines in the practice of advice and guidance, and who provide information that is often interpreted by others. It provides a first step to professional qualification in contexts such as community settings, charitable organisations and government funded schemes.
The Level 4 Diploma in Career Information and Advice has been specifically designed for those working in the new All Age National Careers Service, external agency and voluntary service signposting roles, and roles where staff who work in other organisations provide career advice, information, employability support and signposting as part of their own broader work role. The qualification will provide accredited professional development opportunities for those currently and newly working in these areas and encourage progression in the sector.
