At Bristol Language College, we combine modern and traditional methods of language teaching to help you learn quickly. We place particular emphasis on good vocabulary and provide the speaking practice that you need to survive and improve your life either here in England or anywhere in the world. We specialise in General English, IELTS and the Cambridge exams: PET, FCE, CAE and CPE.

• 14:15 - 17:30 Afternoon General English class (15 hours/week, Monday to Friday during summer period)
• 18:00 - 21:00 Cambridge FCE, CAE, CPE or IELTS (5,5, hours/week, Mondays & Wednesdays)
Our teachers are carefully chosen for their ability and enthusiasm. You are welcome to have a Free Trial Lesson before you join the college to see if the lessons are right for you. We are confident they will be.
A general English class covers all skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing), along with the work you need on grammar and vocabulary. We structure our General English classes around a coursebook and the TEG level syllabus which is revised and updated regularly. We have General English classes from Elementary to Advanced with a maximum class size of 14 students (but an average of 8).
We currently have five language colleges in England: Bristol, Portsmouth, Southampton, Winchester and Chichester.
At BLC and all TEG colleges, we understand the importance of value for money and that you must feel you are learning and in an enjoyable way. The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is the standard exam for those overseas students wishing to enter university in the UK. Our IELTS classes focus on exam technique and emphasise the linguistic skills you will need to be a success at university.
As you probably know, many people speak French as a first or second language around the world. Whether you need French for business, travel or migration, we can offer French lessons at these different levels: Beginners Elementary Intermediate Advanced (one-to-one or Special groups) Lessons are given by a native speaker teacher who can easily adapt to your level and needs.
The Spanish language is more useful and popular than ever. Whether you need Spanish for business, migration or travel, at Bristol Language College, we can offer Spanish lessons at these different levels: Beginners Elementary Intermediate Advanced (One-to-one or Special groups) Lessons are given by a native speaker teacher who can easily adapt to your level and needs.

This exam is the highest levels of the Cambridge exams and should only be attempted by students with a very high level of English. We can advise you on your suitability for this exam.
The FCE exam is a qualification in upper-intermediate English (B2) and our course will prepare you for all aspects of the exam. You can take the Paper-based exam in March, April, June, July, August, October or December.
This hour is centred on a different topic area every day. It could be vocabulary, reading or listening – all with plenty of speaking practice.
This class is for students who have the aim to pass an exam (such as KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE or IELTS). The class focuses on practice tests, as well as the teacher giving advice and extra assistance and to help you get the result you need.
We are pleased to offer Courses for Young Learners aged 10-15 at our school of English. This is ideal for parents who wish their children to improve their English during the Summer Holidays.
CAE tests you at an Advanced level of English (C1) and will provide strong evidence that you have reached a very high level. Our course will prepare you for all aspects of the exam, which you can take in March, April, June, July, August, October or December (Paper-based version).
