After making and selling crystal and silver jewellery for 5 years and two years training in silversmithing, I started teaching wire & bead jewellery making techniques in May 2010 to a small group of interested people at my home. I currently run a drop-in evening class and Saturday workshops.
To give students an enjoyable and creative me-time, I keep classes small (max. 6 students) for lots of one-to-one tuition, interesting by providing students with a wide choice of an ever developing variety of projects and relaxed with chat and good humour.
My mission in every class is to create a haven, away from the pressures of everyday life, where students can learn new skills, get totally absorbed in creative challenges and socialise and make new friends.

Learn the traditional method of knotting a string of pearls or beads with silk cord. Originally each pearl was knotted onto the cord individually to prevent loss should the cord break.
Focusing on designing with colour and shapes, this project will appeal to the artist in you. We will be cutting shapes out of special plastic sheet, colour them and use a heat gun to shrink them down into pendants, charms, connectors for any piece of jewellery you choose to make.
You will be learning wire twisting techniques to make a beautiful gemstone and crystal bonsai tree (see photo gallery). This can be anchored in a pretty little pot or mounted on a natural rock.
Learn two different ways of setting undrilled stones or cabochons. The twisted wire frame setting is a simple, quick way to set stones.
Pull out all the stops and let your creativity and design skills run wild in this workshop. We will be working with UV resin which cures under ultraviolet light and will be ready for you to take home straight after the workshop.
Chains and links for everyone! This workshop is suitable for all levels. We will be making lots of different links, which can be used on their own to make chains or alternated with beads to make necklaces, bracelets and earrings.
