This AMI 0-3 Diploma course focuses on the Montessori approach to the human being from conception to three years old. The aim of the course is to study, in depth, Montessori theory and practice that is validated by current scientific research in child development; and to provide participants with insight into the way in which children can be helped to maximise their potential at the beginning of life in a natural and supportive environment.
The course offers a mix of theoretical study and practical handling of the Montessori materials, giving students insight into how the Montessori approach to working with children in the early years is based on a deep understanding of child development underpinned by the theories of Maria Montessori and other educators. A Montessori Partnership Certificate is awarded to students who successfully complete all the requirements of the theoretical and practical components of the course and passes both the written and the practical examinations.
