Open sessions for all to relay personal memories and to share experiences. Being taught by a practising Counsellor is also a boon and especially one that can convey the subject matter well.
This course is aimed at candidates who are already in appropriate employment within the motor vehicle trade. The course is based within the work place where assessment will take place, but learners may have to attend College for training sessions and building a portfolio. This will be agreed with the candidate at interview. Successful completion of this course is one of the entry requirements for progression onto the equivalent Level 3 course. The course consists of the following 7 mandatory units: Contribute to workshop good housekeeping Health and safety Maintain positive working relationships Remove and replace engine units and components Remove and replace auxiliary electrical units and components Remove and replace chassis units and components Carry out routine maintenance. In addition, one optional unit must be undertaken, normally 'Remove and replace transmission and driveline units and components'.

Entry Requirements
Learners must: Be in suitable full time employment Have achieved GCSEs at Grade E or above In Maths and English Language or have achieved at least Level 1 in Numeracy and Literacy, as well as a good level of dictation in a College based Initial Assessment process Have achieved at least 80% attendance and demonstrated a conscientious attitude to learning in any previous College based course Demonstrate a positive interest in motor vehicle studies at interview Undertake appropriate additional support should this be required Provide their own substantial footwear and overalls in the work place The work place assessment location must be within a 25 mile radius of Stafford College
