- I love Mosaics
- Hammersmith And Fulham Adult Learning And Skills Service
- Amanda, October 2006
- Overall rating
- Course content *****
- I decided to do the course because I really love mosaics in general so I thought it would be nice to learn a bit more about it. What I didn't realize was that I would leave the course with two beautiful pieces. I ended up making a very pretty picture and a vase which have both been given to friends and family members as a present and they seemed to appreciate it. It is something unique and special because you're taking time out of your life to make it.

- How to cut an onion
- Leiths School Of Food And Wine
- Graeme, October 2006

- Course content *****
- This is a great course if you want to learn some basic techniques that are useful in every day cooking. For example there is an easy way and a hard way to chop an onion in to small pieces, and Leith's provides you with a great method - a bit difficult to describe in a review, but once seen never forgotten. The course takes place across 10 evenings and in my case was made up of around thirty people, about 50:50 men to women. Strangely enough I met up with a friend of a friend on my work top of four people, which made the whole thing very sociable. So sociable in fact that after the first week, one of us would bring a bottle of wine along and Keith Floyd style we would share it out as the evening progressed. It's a practical course with some tuition at the beginning, in order to see how it's done, and then we all got on with it with pre-prepared ingredients to hand. Each evening we'd cover several cookery techniques - pastry making, boning a chicken, peeling a tomato - and then put the techniques we had learned in to practice. Perhaps the best thing of all was at the end of each evening we took home the meals that we had prepared, so at least once a week you get to eat well!

- I am currently nearing the end of the Leadership and Management Course, which forms part of the CIPD Professional Development Scheme. The completion of this course leads to Licentiate membership of the CIPD. The course consists of tutor lead discussions and workshops, case studies and group exercises, with four assignments, four skills assessments and four exams at the end. I chose to take the flexible learning route to this course as it wasnt convenient for me to attend weekly trips to college. That way I could study in my own time and attend the workshops every 4-6 weeks. They provide you with a range of learning materials (including text books, workbooks and audio CDs) and the tutors are always on hand to answer queries either via phone or email. I have made some great friends over the past year who come from a variety of working backgrounds and industries and have found it to be a very worthwhile experience so far. I have found BPP Malpas to be extremely helpful and professional and would recommend them as an HR training and development provider to anyone.

- Olga, October 2006
- Overall rating
- Course content *****
- I thoroughly enjoyed studying law at the LSE. The professors are all experts in their fields and always made an effort to pass some of their enthusiasm on to us. I found that this made my learning experience highly enjoyable. Moreover, I found that our learning process was balanced and our progress was monitored carefully by our tutors.

- This was a very informative and inspiring course. It was very intensive as one learns everything in a year as opposed to being spread over three years, like a degree course. Teaching was of an exceptionally high standard and course materials were particularly helpful. The course structure was very well planned leaving plenty of time for revision before exams started in the summer. The course was a mixture of exams at the end and coursework throughout the year including an extended essay a mini-dissertation. This is definitely a course I would recommend

- Spanish saviour!
- Talk Languages
- Mark, October 2006
- Overall rating
- Course content *****
- Talk Languages arranged for some private tuition for me near home in Clapham prior to a trip to Peru. I'd done some spanish before but it could be only be described as 'rusty' at best. This meant that I got one-to-one lessons covering exactly what I wanted from the word go and while hardly fluent I could feel the language memory returning quite quickly. Quite good value with the teacher at about £20 for an hour and a half, local to me (at her flat, but could have been at mine) and very nice (venezuelan PhD student with a great sense of humour - she gave me Latin American slang to use as well). On my sample of only one, they vet their tutors well enough. Turned out to be the most valuable course I've ever done in that I fell off a bicycle in Peru and spent a week after surgery speaking only spanish in hospital! I've not used it since though and while the injuries have recovered, my spanish is again in need of remedial surgery...

- FTC Kaplan deserves 10 Platinum stars!
- Kaplan Financial
- John, October 2006
- Overall rating
- Course content *****
- I'm a full time student with FTC Kaplan at their Borough High Street branch. The lectures here are structured and intense but the tutors are only the best in the business! The course is structured to both cover the topic in detail and give you a revision course before the exam with additional assessments in between. The tutors know their stuff, most having worked in the industry for many years. Admin/Student support is also some of the best I've come accross!!

The training is highly personalised to match my particular needs - subject matter and methods of communication. I would recommend the Centre to any business or individual.

- Great course if you want to meet people as the teacher is a real character and gets the class all talking to each other. He also always serves up some food that goes well with the wine you are tasting that week...great cheese or pate. Had a lot of fun and would recommend to anyone that likes wine.

- My interest in Chinese is related to business. I wanted some basic Chinese for when I visited China - to be able to introduce myself, say something about myself and family, be able to order in a restaurant plus the specialist words and phrases I need in connection with my work. This course met my requirements extremely well. It was structured but able to flex to meet what I wanted. The teacher was excellent - patient (always willing to go over things several times if necessary!), listened to what we wanted and explained the cultural context to what we were learning. The course material and contect was varied and I found it very enjoyable - I just wish I had had more time to devote to it! HIghly recommended.

- I L.U.R.V.E photography. Bruce weber rocks! My all time fab video = pet shop boy's "being boring", beautifully shot by weber! I used to love my Polaroid 1200si. Then for last Christmas I bought a mega groovy digital camera: a mega sexy... Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W7 to replace my old pentax slr. but oops, my Sony Cyber-shot is a tad bit complicated and I couldn't suss out the manual overdrive. So I enrolled on a digital photography evening classes @ st martins school of art, london! I hasten to add, st martins runs two related digital photography evening classes: the first session covers shooting photographs using your camera while the second session covers manipulating digital photographs in Photoshop. So please ensure you enrol for the right session! Walking into the building you can't help have a sense of awe... st martins has produced the coolest art talent ever. The tutors @ st martins were inspirational, enthusiastic and v fun. My class mates were a stimulating mixture of cool cats who wanted to use their camera for work and those who just wanted to produce groovy digital images for fun. It was a v fab evening class to take but my only downer was a slight feeling of hi-tech inferiority lol! My class mates all had the hugest-ever, mega expensive digital SLR cameras which dwarfed my almost trailer-trash compact camera. For digital photography evening classes in London.. st martins rocks! Thanks tutors... you were sweeties!
