    Course content *****
I thoroughly enjoyed this course, even though on graduation I have moved into a completely different industry the knowledge I gained through my course has been invaluable. The topics you study are generally the same as those studied by Management Sciences, however where they study Logistics in general you study Retailing Logisics. The Management Sciences degree then learns all of this in lecture theatres whereas the retail degree is taken out to see real life situations and given projects my large retailing companies. Not only does this make the course more appealing but allows you to apply the knowledge you are applying to the real world.
    Student facilities *****
The resources and facilities are all excellent however there is a shortage of retailing books in the library so if you want one make sure you get in there first.

  • Insightful and Relevant
    London College Of Fashion
    Kerry, March 2007
    Overall rating ****
    Course content ****
The level 2 course builds on the basics covered in level 1 and is a very helpful next step. It covers lots of ground from range planning to mark downs, wholesaling to importing. Our lecturer, Be, was enthusiastic and inspiring and provided a lot of real-life examples from her own experience and from the trade press. This gives an understanding of how the theory being learned actually works in the industry. Well worth it!

  • BTEC Retail - 4 GCSE's - No Exams - Simple Work
    Wales High School
    Brett, July 2007
    Overall rating ****
    Course content *****
I was taught exactly what I needed to be taught in order for me to pass the course. (which I did with flying colours) The tutors are excellent. They are very hardworking for you as a student. The tutors will help you finish work by the deadline even if it means them spending more time after schooling hours.
    Student facilities *****
The classrooms were very clean and tidy. They were equipped with at least 20 desktop computers in each classroom which meant that there was ample space for everyone to work at a computer. The actual building is a portakabin like structure with 4 main classrooms and a main display/open area in the center.
    Social life *****
I was very excited about going to my class. I enjoyed the easy going but hardworking atmosphere that was produced by the other students. They were all very hardworking and easy to get on with which made the course even more enjoyable.

A very fast paced summer course with a lot of study expected to be done at home. The tutor is helpful but in lectures the questions are often not answered.
    Student facilities ***

There are very nice students in our class, a very enjoyable group of people - the best part of the college.

Retail Advanced Apprenticeship at Level 3 (EDI)
    Emma, November 2008
    Overall rating ****
    Course content ****
The course was extremely relevant to my work. It opened up my mind to the way I approach customers and how to constantly improve my skills and knowledge.
    Student facilities ****
I was taught at work with limited facilities but this didn't effect my willingness to work. I was really confident in taking this course as I knew it would help further my career and I wasn't worried about extra work-loads as my tutor helped plan out the work to my own pace.
