- Excellent course. Always wanted to learn German as my mum is German so now i can speak to my family for the first time in years!!! Excellent course material, very friendly and hospitable (always plenty of coffee and biscuits) and i've developed a great working relationship with my tutor which makes the class fun to be in. Would definately recommend!!

- Talk Languages arranged for some private tuition for me near home in Clapham prior to a trip to Peru. I'd done some spanish before but it could be only be described as 'rusty' at best. This meant that I got one-to-one lessons covering exactly what I wanted from the word go and while hardly fluent I could feel the language memory returning quite quickly. Quite good value with the teacher at about £20 for an hour and a half, local to me (at her flat, but could have been at mine) and very nice (venezuelan PhD student with a great sense of humour - she gave me Latin American slang to use as well). On my sample of only one, they vet their tutors well enough. Turned out to be the most valuable course I've ever done in that I fell off a bicycle in Peru and spent a week after surgery speaking only spanish in hospital! I've not used it since though and while the injuries have recovered, my spanish is again in need of remedial surgery...

- Ran course at workplace "after hours" Excellent teaching methods at students own pace and covered all basic business and social situations where the language would be beneficial. Managed to keep the lessons enjoyable and interesting and explained the grammar theory very well. I would thoroughly recommend this company for anyone wishing to learn Spanish and to get the confidence to put it into use.

- I have had "one to one" lessons for five years now and my French has been transformed from poor "O" standard to a level where I can attend and contribute to meetings with French colleagues with confidence taht I can understand and be understood. The training is highly personalised to match my particular needs - subject matter and methods of communication. I would recommend the Centre to any business or individual.

- My interest in Chinese is related to business. I wanted some basic Chinese for when I visited China - to be able to introduce myself, say something about myself and family, be able to order in a restaurant plus the specialist words and phrases I need in connection with my work. This course met my requirements extremely well. It was structured but able to flex to meet what I wanted. The teacher was excellent - patient (always willing to go over things several times if necessary!), listened to what we wanted and explained the cultural context to what we were learning. The course material and contect was varied and I found it very enjoyable - I just wish I had had more time to devote to it! HIghly recommended.

- Languages for Business have provided an excellent service which has been incredibly flexible and tailored to our needs. The tutors and management have been great, they really listened to us as customers and provided us with first class tution and support. Their fees are very reasonable and I will certainly be returning to them for further courses and recommending them to others.

- I am now doing my second block of lessons of Italian and am finding the course very practical and interesting. I share my lessons with one other colleague. Our tutor is very attentive and works very well with our pace. Having already learnt two other languages she is able to adapt to our needs and pace and tailor the lessons to suit us. As well as following course guides we often have discussions about other topics and the lessons can get pretty humourous. Overall I am extremely pleased with what I have learnt and the environment in which the course is conducted.

- It still bewilders me, that I can now pick up some Chinese text, read it, comprehend it, say the words (in Mandarin) and make a comment in Mandarin. All this after only 6 weeks! The teacher, Tina Tian, has bought back the fun to learning and with that, the joy of acquiring new ideas. Her style is to immerse you in a knowledge of what ordinary Chinese people say to each other about everyday matters. The mix of a constant flow of Chinese conversation with English explanation, soon gives comprehension to the meaning of, previously unintelligible sounds. Soon you are responding, in Mandarin, to a question put to you in Mandarin. Next you are laughing at a joke in Mandarin, while conversing with a fellow pupil! The venue is a very pleasant building in Portland Place, well served by tube and buses. There is a jolly canteen and a relaxed atmosphere to the whole place. For me, the course has been rewarding and the price, well worth it. There is an emphasis on preparing yourself for the next class, as each class opens with questions related to the previous lesson. This is the homework element, but it is not daunting and compels you to practice conversation. All in all, a positive experience indeed.

- This is one of very few advanced Portuguese courses in the north west. The tutor is excellent and the groups are small. The tutor is a native speaker and highly experienced teacher. We were given interesting materials to use in class in order to make us well prepared for the exam.

- This course was excellent! Not a word of English was spoken when I entered the first class (late), but I immediately felt at ease. Our British teacher seems to have mastered the language of Mandarin and the game of charades all at the same time, as he would guide us through the lessons with actions, expressions, pictures, and pointing at almost anything available to help us understand. The class responded well and by the end I felt like I had taken a major step in my path towards learning Mandarin. Thanks very much!
