About the course The purpose of this qualification is to introduce refrigeration and air-conditioning (heat pump) systems to engineers who are either in the industry, or want to enter the industry. This training will provide them with the necessary practical and theoretical knowledge to qualify them to install and commission refrigeration and air conditioning (Heat Pump) Systems.
Module 1 has been designed to provide the essential practical knowledge in automotive air conditioning fundamentals and refrigerant handling. This enables technicians to carry out refrigerant recovery only, in a professional, safe and legal manner.
This course is suitable for apprentices employed in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning industry. It covers: mechanical engineering, energy and the environment, cooling systems, calculations, science and technology.
Air conditioning and climate control qualification is suited to individuals looking for a career in the automotive industry and those already employed as technicians. It provides the essential knowledge and skills required by technicians who wish to expand their breadth of knowledge of Mobile Air Conditioning (MAC) systems.
This course is designed to inform you of the new legislation covering regulations related to handling and serving air conditioning systems (EC307/2008). You will gain an understanding of Air conditioning systems; The basic processes; Pressures; Refrigeration cycle; Refrigeration systems; Refrigeration state and condition; Lubrication; Refrigerant recovering; Air conditioning electrical systems; Refrigerants; The ozone layer and the greenhouse effect; Regulations and legislation; Service equipment and service procedures.
This Apprenticeship covers the following: Installation and assembly of air conditioning systems, Fitting air conditioning systems, Testing air conditioning systems, Commissioning and de-commissioning air conditioning systems, Heat pump systems, Halocarbon air conditioning and heat pump systems and RAC systems and components. On successful completion of this course, you can progress to level 3 apprenticeships.
This course is for anyone who works in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry and wants to gain a qualification. The 'F' gas qualification forms part of the Level 2 NVQ course and includes prefabrication and installation of an RAC system.
This Apprenticeship covers the following: Installation and assembly of air conditioning systems, Fitting air conditioning systems, Testing air conditioning systems, Commissioning and de-commissioning air conditioning systems, Heat pump systems, Halocarbon air conditioning and heat pump systems and RAC systems and components. On completion of the Apprenticeship, apprentices will be able to progress in their career into job roles such as technician, designer estimator, project manager, site/workshop supervisor/manager, service manager, chartered engineer, sales engineer or commercial manager.
Many motor vehicle technicians have limited experience or qualifications demonstrating their competence in air-conditioning components and systems. This qualification will provide you with the opportunity to develop new Mobile Air Conditioning (MAC) skills and enhance existing ones.
